Living Art - From Clay to Trophy Table

Evan Davenport and Kurt Oviedo in greenhouse together

This month's program explores the artistry behind creating an award-worthy potted cactus or succulent display. More than simply placing a plant into a container, this presentation celebrates the thoughtful design choices that transform a pot into a living work of art.

Evan Davenport and Kurt Oviedo will share their approach to selecting the perfect vessel, choosing a specimen that complements its form, incorporating top dressings and staging rocks, and composing a miniature landscape that enhances the beauty of the plant within the rim of the container.

From a handmade lump of clay to a finished masterpiece worthy of the trophy table, discover how every element works together to create a picturesque scene where the container, stone, and plant become one cohesive work of living art.
